Michelle qualified as a Certified Accountant whilst here at Kershen Fairfax in 2000 having joined the firm in 1996 as a junior audit and accounts clerk. She subsequently obtained Fellowship status in 2005 and in 2011 became a Director in the Practice.
As a general practitioner with a thorough understanding of business and tax issues she brings her experience to both new and existing clients be they corporate organisations, individuals or Charitable bodies. To this end Michelle has a vast amount of experience in all areas of personal and corporate tax, payroll, bookkeeping, VAT, management accounts and accounts preparation through to cash flows, budgets, specialist reporting and tax planning.
Since Partnership and the chance to grow her own portfolio of clients she has found that whilst being a general practitioner her interests, and hence specialisms, have developed in advising individuals who wish to start new businesses and for current clients to operate as efficiently as possible. She helps them to understand their own businesses better by implementing management accounts, cash flow planning, budgeting and internal reporting, either carried out in-house by their own staff or with assistance from the bookkeeping team at Kershen Fairfax.
Michelle strongly believes that her role is to support and advise her clients so that they can do what they do best whilst she ensures the regulatory aspects are met efficiently and in a stress free manner.
Michelle is also involved with the administrative side of the Practice with a wide range of responsibilities from overseeing the firm’s practice development through to IT infrastructure, training and mentoring of staff and recruitment.
